Synthesis

The first solo exhibition of Jeffrey Sugishita, Synthesis, will be presented at the Moorpark College Student Art Gallery. Synthesis will display a collection of works high in diversity as Sugishita’s work comes in various forms of expression such as drawings, sketches, cut paper, paintings, and sculptures. This lineup of works that incorporates both ordinary and unusual mediums reflects Sugishita’s ideology that the only limit to his creations is his own creativity, and his imagination can be realized anywhere, anytime and with anything so long as the passion is there. Some of Sugishita’s works are ordinary pencil drawings; some of his works are sculptures that are made entirely from cabinet door hinges. Some works have been completed over the course of months at his studio desk, while others have been briskly finished between taking notes and listening to lectures in class. This exhibition is an accumulation, a synthesis, of Sugishita’s works over the years that tell a story of who he is and how his style has established over the course of his lifetime.
